Now does the data for the entire country for an entire month constitute "weather" or "climate"...?
I sure do need a liberal to spin this for me..!!http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/oa/climate/...h/cag3/na.html The average temperature in January 2008 was 30.5 F. This was -0.3 F cooler than the 1901-2000 (20th century) average, the 49th coolest January in 114 years. The temperature trend for the period of record (1895 to present) is 0.1 degrees Fahrenheit per decade. 2.21 inches of precipitation fell in January. This was -0.01 inches less than the 1901-2000 average, the 65th driest such month on record. The precipitation trend for the period of record (1895 to present) is -0.01 inches per decade. |

Well that's good. The problem we have is that the earth will warm or cool based on it's own forces, having nothing to do with us; however the GW freaks will use any warming to hasten their own agenda - so we have to hope that the earth will move towards a cooling period as some think it's about to. Unfortunately these cycles can last decades so while I have no doubt we will hit a natural cooling period, it's anyoe's guess whether it will happen now - just the right time to shut up the lunatics who are convincing the masses that they're right. Hopefully luck will be on our side.

The interesting thing looking at those graphs is the very slight increase since 1900 with the trend line showing no sharpening whatsoever over time. Looking at the Average Temperature Trend, from 1900 to 1950 it goes from about 52.3 to 52.9 then from 1950 to now it goes from about 52.9 to 53.5. That's 0.6 degrees over 50 years; but, I ask you, why isn't the second 50 years far worse than the first 50 years given the huge increase in emmissions over the two different periods ?

They've (GW Loons) got a new one now if it gets cold they still blame HUMANS, if it gets Hot they blame American Neo Con Humans That heat their homes with Oil, if you tell them that the planet had Global Warming during the days of the Dinosaurs their eyes get all cloudy and they mumble to themselves some of the more Batty ones start raving about buying a bike.
No matter what the weather does Rain, Snow, Heat, Cold or Fog, while George Bush is in office they will blame the dirty Right Wing Americans. If Obooma or Pant Suit go to the White House all this Climate Change sh!t will end as soon as they are sworn in, if it's Oboomba that wins get ready to see hundreds maybe thousands of young Americans die in Dafur he has already said America should be over there. Will Charlie Racist Rangle try to get the Draft going if Obooma is elected? ![]()

Lets bring the science debate closer to 2007.....In the 1980's in the acid rain debate where did you stand with the researchers who claimed it was a hoax or the researchers who claimed it was real?

Didn't pay much attention. It is not unlikly that putting sulfur in the atmosphere would result in more acidic rain. I had noproblem wiht the gov pushing scrubbers to clean up the output from coal plants. I am also amused that the fols who were put out by coal plants were also against nukes. BTW where is the concern with all the plants being built by the Chicoms that aren't using scrubber technology and spewing raw pollutants into tha atmosphere. Where do you stand on That?

Big business found researchers who claimed acid rain was a hoax and that any effort to clean up the hoax would destroy the economy... Where have I heard that before time and time again?
