If I fight on in my campaign, all the way to the convention, I would forestall the launch of a national campaign and make it more likely that Senator Clinton or Obama would win. And in this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign, be a part of aiding a surrender to terror.

Mitt Romney.

Wow.....
What a hero.
A true American fighting the good fight.....

Once again, the carpetbagger packs up his stuff and moves on to the next "thing". Maybe he'll go run for Senator in Arizona or Illinois...maybe New York.

Coming to a town near you...Mitt Romney.

Sometimes the truth needs to be spoken. Mitt Romney will speak later this today and say something similar.

Of course he will. He's been saying "something similar" for months, now. He's useless and whoever want's to annoint him as the Messiah of the Right needs to look at his record and re-examine their definition of "hero" and "honest". Romney is and always has been interested in himself only. He's useless. Sorry if you like him. I don't, and at least now I don't have to hear any more double-sided jive from him.

Neo-conism is on it's last leg, it seems. It was a fad that may have seen it's last day, but not too soon. No offense to you if you consider yourself one because I respect and appreciate your posts.

He didn't really have a shot after losing Florida. I think Romney is wise to withdraw right now. I do believe he will run in 2012. He did much better than I ever thought he would. Obviously part of that stems from the crowded, and uninspiring crowd repub voters had to choose from, but never the less, he made his name national. He would've been roasted in a national heads up, so he should realize that this campaign will probably serve him better in 2012 than it ever could now. He's what, 60ish? He's got another run left if he wants it. His economical appeal might be worth something should a rough market linger in 4 years.

BTW, I wonder if there is possibility of Romney being VP. I highly doubt it, but with the economy being so important an issue right now, and McCain, Obama, and Hillary being clueless with respect to running anything, VP choices will need to have an economic background me thinks.

I've thought since Johnny Mac's FL win that Romney would be the VP candidate. He'll pull in the conservative vote and add that economic experience. I'm just praying it's not Huckabee (ironic, no?).
