Default Is Al Qeada being hunted down and smoked out of their holes in pakistan?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080206/...ror_threats_20

WASHINGTON - Al-Qaida, increasingly tamped down in Iraq, is establishing cells in other countries as Osama bin Laden's organization uses Pakistan's tribal region to train for attacks in Afghanistan, the Middle East, Africa and the United States, the U.S. intelligence chief said Tuesday.

"Al-Qaida remains the pre-eminent threat against the United States," Mike McConnell told a Senate hearing more than six years after the Sept. 11 attacks.

From AQI:

Quote:
Having run out of men for terrorist activities, and apparently temporarily short on the mentally handicapped, al-Qaeda in Iraq has begun recruiting grade-school boys to conduct attacks. Children as young as 10 have received training on kidnapping and assassination in order to get past security processes and attack civilians. The US has it on tape:

Videotapes seized during U.S. raids on suspected al-Qaida in Iraq hide-outs show the terror group training young boys to kidnap and assassinate civilians, U.S. and Iraqi officials said Wednesday.
Footage aired for reporters showed an apparent training operation with black-masked boys — some of whom appeared to be about 10 years old — storming a house and holding guns to the heads of mock residents. Another tape showed a young boy wearing a suicide vest and posing with automatic weapons. ...

This appears to be the final mobilization of AQI. They've gone after the seed corn, killing not just this generation but generations to follow. Their desperation has grown so great that they're willing to kill their own children for the cause.

Other reports have AQ looking for an exit strategy from Iraq. It seems like they may not have much of a force to withdraw at this point. Once they run out of children, what's left?

Then there was the predator strike on the AQ meeting in Pakistan last week.

However things will get a lot easier for AQ next JAn.

Why is the next president going from 1 strike to a 1/2 strike?

HA! Good one!
Ya think maybe if The Retard had been able to focus on where AQ was in the first place we'd still be hunting them down in 2008? It's seven years after 9/11 and Bin Ladin's body is STILL not in Central Park getting picked by crows. And we're STILL talking about finding AQ! I thought it might have taken 7 months to wipe out AQ...maybe a year, but SEVEN FRIGGIN YEARS?

Seriously, ...good one.

It is important to note that we're limited in our operations in Pakistan by what their government will allow. We're not going to just send as many troops into a nuclear nation as we want. Plus the fact that being too pro-American could result in the current regime being toppled with the possibility of extremists gaining power and gaining control of the nukes. If it was just a matter of force levels we would send 10s of thousands of troops across the border to scour the mountains for OBL and other Al Qaeda, unfortunately the situation is more complicated than that.

Why didn't they send in troops in 2001 during the tora bora campaign to seal in al qeada to help prevent the inevitable escape?

i guess you have never been to Afghanistan...it is not as simple as sealing them in. There is no way to surround them in tora Bora or any of the Kush mountain ranges in the area. the land it just too rigid and those damn people are like frickin mountain goats.

I remember gary bernsten made a request after hearing a transmission of osama
for added U.S. troops to help prevent escape....At least thats what he said as a field commander in tora bora.
