the final four candidates in a national forum if you had to ask them all the same question?

Most of the questions have already been asked, I'd be more interested in hearing what they had to say if they had to give an honest, non-political answer.

Here's one but I'm cheating in that its 2 questions for the 2 parties.

I guess the main question would be to define success/failure in Iraq. From there it gets complicated.

First, both Hillary and Obama say we should refocus our efforts on fighting Al Qaeda in Afghanistan and leave Iraq, but the question is, "if we're fighting Al Qaeda in Iraq right now, and we know a strong military presence is necessary to hunt them down, why is Iraq now less important than Afghanistan. In other words, if you want to cut and run from Iraq why not do the same in Afghanistan, we're losing people there too."

On the Republican side I would ask "if you believe the surge is a success, how do we extend that success to the failures in the political realm. The surge has given time for political reconciliation but little has been accomplished. Do we continue supporting the country militarily if the politicians refuse to make progress, and how do we decide when and if they're beyond our help?"
