Default What's Your Highest Level of Sports Competition?

Played baseball in college, was alright. Blew my knee out and that was the end of it.

I play chess tournaments. USCF nationally rated expert currently at 2045. I wear my Pats' cap to events for the extra mojo!

That's pretty cool. Do you practice at all online?

Ran Cross Country and Track in the 7th/8th grades, and then in a span of that one year, must have suffered a physical burnout, as I ended up losing a couple of steps.(Went from Cross Country champion in the 7th to pretty much lucky-to-make-the-second-team in the 8th)

Basketball in College, never broke into the starting lineup, wasn't a bigtime school. I'm 5'11" and white but I like playing small forward which with a 6'4" wingspan wasn't as crazy as it sounds. I would have at least started a couple games towards the end if I had been in a high school with a team. vv

Ultimately my heart just wasn't in it, though, all I wanted was to play on a high school football team as a LB/S/RB but none of the schools that I could go to, public or private, had a football team until 5 or so years after I graduated. Goddamnit. I would have played my guts out on a football team.

Thats an iincredible achievment. You rate as a Master I believe. I use to have a rating of 1800+,and I know its probably harder to go from 1800-2045 than it is to go from 0-1800.

Walk on BB at a small D1 school. No PT whatsoever! I'm 5'9" with no wingspan, but I know (knew) how to play and had a good handle and could shoot. Mostly I liked passing, and that's rare nowadays. Actually, I think if I shot more I would have done better, but I was unselfish and mabe lacked balls.

Ran track and cross country in high school, despite being a little overweight going into high school. Was named captain of the cross country team. Put some weight on in college and started playing intramural basketball, volleyball, softball, and of course football*.

*Intramural football is where my member name comes from. In 7 on 7 football there was always 3 down linemen. For our d-line, our team had two people who actually played football and were quite large. At 5'10'' 180 lbs., I was the midget on the line, so I dropped back into mid-field coverage and spied the qb rather than rush and was given the name "The Lurking Linebacker" by an opposing qb I picked off 2x in one game. Unfortunately, we lost in the championship game the past two years.
