Interesting story and interesting source, our buddies the Saudi's do not like us all that much.. but once again it points to the evils of religious extremism, whether it be Islam, fundamental christian or Unifimoonism.
http://today.reuters.com/news/articl...I-FIGHTERS.xml WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Most al Qaeda fighters in Iraq are from Saudi Arabia and Libya and many are university-aged students, said a study released on Wednesday by researchers at the U.S. Army's West Point military academy. The study was based on 606 personnel records collected by al Qaeda in Iraq and captured by coalition troops in October. It includes data on fighters who entered Iraq, largely through Syria, between August 2006 and August 2007. The researchers at West Point's Combating Terrorism Center found that 41 percent of the fighters were Saudi nationals. Libyan nationals accounted for the second largest group entering Iraq in that time period with about 19 percent of the total, followed by Syrians and Yemenis each at 8 percent, Algerians with 7 percent and Moroccans at 6 percent.

.
The only problem with this line of reasoning is that al qaeda wants to kill the Saudi royal family and take over Saudi as part of the "new world caliphate." Other than that, excellent point. //

Old news really ... a good amount of Al Queda's $$$ came from Saudi Arabia. Al Queda was (is) a natural enemy of the shiites (Iran) so it all makes sense in the convoluted sewer politics that is the Middle East.
One of the big reasons Bush screwed up. He beat down 2 of Iran's biggest enemies for them in Saddam and Al Queda. I still say we would have been better off leaving Saddam in power and driving Al Queda into the mountains of Pakistan. Leave them around and cornered to keep an eye on them. Now we have a bunch of fractured terrorists around the world ... on a smaller scale similar to what the government had to deal with when they broke up the mafia. Bush never learned the old mafia saying "keep your friends close and keep your enemies closer. We've been doing it with Putin for a while now. Last edited by IcyPatriot; 12-20-2007 at 10:50 AM. |

Al one big happy family, aren't they? I think the Monkey was the first one to actually mouth-**** the medieval, despotic animal, though.
