Default Time: Person of the Year Is?

Vladimir Putin.

This is disgusting. A man who is trying to restore communism back to Russia, accused of fixing a recent election, took pics with his shirt off, is dislike globally as much as Bush, funds terrorist states openly, and throws a temper tantrum when the USA attempts to set up a missile defense shield outside of his country (Time is published in the USA BTW). I could go on and on. This is just sick.

We should send Time to Russia and let them publish from Moscow.

It's getting worse each year, next year they will have an Illegal Alien on the front page taking a bath in a swimming pool with his mother in law.

We are destroying ourselves from within and the "New Hollywood Democrats" are leading the war.

Harry Weasel Reid & Nancy Teeth Pelosi are two slimy scumbags out to destroy American Culture, and they are using the Constitution to destroy The Constitution.

I hope their bowels become infested with worms.

Personally I'm shocked that they didn't give the free press to Hillary, but I guess she wasn't as big a socialist as they prefer.

That's Time magazine for you. The same folks who stuck it in America's eyes with making "man of the year" (sic) out of, yes, Adolph Hitler, Josef Stalin (twice), Nikita Khruschev , and Deng Shao Peng (twice; gotta love them commies, eh, Time?). No Castro and Ho Chi Minh, but you know there must have been blood on the editorial room floor over that. When Stalin's daughter and Khruschev's son both escaped from the Soviet and moved to the U.S., Time never mentioned it, for some reason. Huh. Biggest secrets in the world. Did you know that Khruschev's son lived right down in Rhode Island??? Didn't know that?? Good ol' Time mag. Warm and fuzzy Time.

http://www.time.com/time/2007/poy/

But Time "doesn't have any political agenda." Nah. Pure "coincidence" that they have reported -- and non-reported -- these events.

Talk about rotting in hell someday. Henry and Claire Booth Luce, where are you??? No wonder SI tends to suck so much.

What a stupid award. Time is a grossly overrated magazine.

who gives a shYt? Reich Wingers will get untucked about any stupid thing, won't they?

anyhow, here's some perspective from Time's managing editor:
"He's not a good guy, but he's done extraordinary things," said Time managing editor Richard Stengel, who announced Putin's selection on NBC's "Today Show."

"He's a new tsar of Russia and he's dangerous in the sense that he doesn't care about civil liberties; he doesn't care about free speech; he cares about stability. But stability is what Russia needed and that's why Russians adore him."

considering how the West bilked Russia for some 500 to 600 billion dollars in the 90s (large thanks to Gore/Clinton maneuvers), and how OPEC completely sabotaged the Russian economy, kicking them while they were down after their collapse, it's a miracle Russia is just now starting to get back on its feet...

Well, with criteria like that, they could have named Osama person of the year in 2001 now couldn't they. He's not a good guy, had done extrordinary things, is dangerous, but is adored by his followers to the point that they give their lives for him.

yes... so?... Hitler won, yes?

did you read the criteria for the award? they're not hailing him as some "great" or "virtuous" person...
