Default Vikings trade up to grab matt Ryan?

With their star RB and dominant running game. Do you think the vikings will trade up and leap frog atlanta to grab matt Ryan?

Right now the mock draft has the dolphins then us then the falcons.

Tavaris Jackson was a late 2nd rounder early 3rd rounder. So its not like they wasted a 1st round pick on him. Right now the Vikings are 31st in the league in passing yards. So they need to be able to throw the ball. Their total yards and pts are ranked at 10th, so once you just improve the passing yards the vikings could easily be 9-3, instread of 6-6.

Their WR corp is full of average players.
Randy moss could sign with the vikings again and if Matt Ryan plays well enough in his rookie year combined with a dominant running game the vikings could have a shot for the playoffs and be strong for the future.

Adrian Peterson has a very good potential to be the tom brady of the NFC.

Vikes see Jackson as their QB of the future. He's been improving of late.

the vikes are 31st in passing yards, so yeah a lot of room to improve.

a 1st round top 3 pick < 2nd 32 pick QB that is improving lately?

If the vikes can find a free agent QB they might just go that route. Their WR core is so crappy. So they have to look at the draft, because going heavy hunting in the NFL free agent market is hard.

I agree with Tunescribe here, Jackson has been playing pretty well lately. Other teams certainly have more glaring needs at QB than the Vikes, and the Vikes have needs in other places too (WRs and DBs comes to mind).

Is Ryan rated that highly as an NFL prospect?

Mods - Please move this to a place where people actually freaking care what the Vikes do

Alll This draft talk in december is totally moronic and really has no place in the main forum right now.

Comparing a RB Adrian Peterson to a QB Tom Brady???

Right. Where does Ryan now stack up to Brian Brohm, Chase Daniel, and Colt Brennan? Is he rated over them at this point?

i think they are gonna pass on QB early because Jackson has played a lot better recent weeks and the team is like 6-2 when he starts or some good record

Matt Ryan and Brian Brohm are considered the top two qbs available. They're both expexted to be top-10 picks. Andre Woodson and Colt Brennan are considered potential first rounders as well...

IMO cold weather cities will be drawn to Ryan, because he has played so many games in crappy weather for a blue collar team and has been unfazed. This will make him a very attractive candidate at QB for Baltimore, Chicago and KC. IMO Carolina will also be very interested. He is very tough mentally, which will appeal to Fox.

Carolina should be interested. Don't see Vikings making a big splash. Plus, as the Vikes play better and better. That pick will drop to about 20. Don't want to go that low. Carolina may not win another game. Should be desperate for a qb. Not sure what Baltimore is going to do about their situation. Agree about KC and Chi. I would think Chicago wants a vet. D.McNabb maybe?? D.Anderson also a restricted fa at the end of the year. Someone could make a big splash for him.
