Welcome to Buffalo
By Mike Reiss, Globe Staff

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Welcome to Ralph Wilson Stadium, which is located in the Buffalo suburb of Orchard Park, as the Patriots visit the Bills tonight (8:15 p.m.).

The current temperature is 39 degrees and it is expected to drop about 5 degrees by the time kickoff arrives. There is no precipitation, and none is called for in the forecast, so it should be dry but chilly for the teams tonight. Winds are expected to be around 10 miles per hour, which could be a factor in the kicking game.

With the Patriots at 9-0 and buzz surrounding a potential undefeated season, several national reporters are scheduled to be in attendance. USA Today, Sports Illustrated, the Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, New York Times and New York Daily News are among those with writers expected to be present in the press box.

Bill Carollo is scheduled to referee tonight's game. In a bit of a scheduling quirk, Carollo also was the referee for the Bills' game last week.

The Jaguars and Eagles will have advance scouts present. The Bills visit the Jaguars next week, while the Patriots host the Eagles.

We'll have more throughout the night.

After reading the threads here I was wondering if the Patriots/Bills game had been canceled.

Anyway, I think the Bills keep it close for the first half. Midway through the 3rd period the Patriots take command and coast to victory #10.

PS. I hate these frreakin night games.

The Bills have the makings of a damn good team, but they're just not there yet. The Pats should win this one handily, but that's no disrespect to a Buffalo team that could be competing for the division title sooner rather than later.

Absent a franchise QB they won't be competing for the division title in this division in this decade. Wild card maybe given the QB carousel in the AFCS and mismanagement in the AFCW and the Bungles returning to form in spite of Palmer in the AFCN.

I really hate these night games...

'Team decision'
By Mike Reiss, Globe Staff
November 18, 07 04:53 PM

Some questions have been directed here about the Patriots listing WR Wes Welker and OLB Mike Vrabel on their injury report this week, with the designation "team decision".

Some emailers wondered if "team decision" meant the players were being disciplined. Others asked if the team was hiding an injury.

Here is an official explanation from the NFL regarding the usage of "team decision" on participation/injury reports:

"Team decision is a designation for practice participation. If a player is limited in practice or does not practice by reason of something other than an injury, that limited practice participation must be designated as team or player decision. For example, many teams rest veteran players during practice, especially later in the season.”

Losman is not that good of QB. Nothing he's done since he took over has convinced me otherwise. We'll see how good he is since he's without Lynch.

The Bills D is pretty good in an old school 4-3 kind of way but I don't think they stand a chance with Brady under center.

I think it ias going to be MORE of a blow out then people think it will be the Pats have had 2 weeks ot get ready for them and frankly Losman sucks compared to Edwards and i think they are not very smart of putting him back in. it's going to be like 41-10 or something like that. jesus this is going to be a long 3 hours to wait.

Its funny how the bills let three great defensive players walk and a primetime back and they are clearly 2nd in the division. It just shows that big names don't mean that much in this league.

Agreed. I got up early on Sunday for nothing!!
It would have been perfect as a 4 o'clock game.
But I guess they think they can get more viewers in the 8 o'clock slot.
Which is why the Pats game is then. Sigh, it's all about the money.

The Pats will clean the Bills clock though.
Just look at my signature and you have an idea of the outcome.
