Welcome to Miami

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- Welcome to Dolphin Stadium, where the Patriots (6-0) visit the Dolphins (0-6) today.

Conditions could be a factor, as it is hot and humid here. Temperatures are currently in the mid-80s but it feels hotter than that. There is a slight breeze through the stadium.

In terms of atmosphere, it is quiet in the parking lots surrounding the stadium, which is reflective of the fan support the winless Dolphins are receiving. A lot of Patriots fans here.

Pete Morelli is scheduled to referee today's game.

We'll plan on passing along some updates along the way today.

Were ranked top 3 i believe in defense but thats because teams are forced to pass when our offense puts up over 38 each game. if we had a tight game verse a good team...like lets say the Colts..i have a feeling Addai would run all over us for 150-170 yards without Peyton having to throw more than 18 passes all game

Only problem with the kickoff return is it puts the defense right back on the field.

Playing a desparate team that's 0-6 presents some defensive challenges. On third and long situations, we tend to play zone concepts and try to keep them short of the sticks. Doesn't really work on a team that will go for it on 4th.

its quiet simple. just swarm to the ball and tackle. were not getting overpowered..or blocked/pushed back.

we simple miss tackles and dont tackle as a team. we line up and try to arm tackle with 5 people

Look, some of you might be right about this defense being lesser than others, but the Pats have usually picked their spots. Up 14-0 in the blink of an eye on an 0-6 team, you are bound to have a letdown. I just don't think you can extrapolate that accurately to how the team would do against a better team--the only evidence we have is how they did against SD, Cinn, and Dallas--SD was shut down, and the other teams were taken care of when it mattered. Hence the 6-0 start.

I know memory fades over time but we never shut teams down although we were a little better at points in time in shuting them out of the EZ. This is week 7.However, in years past, aside from 2005, the red zone defense was never this bad.
