Welcome to Gillette
By Mike Reiss, Globe Staff

FOXBOROUGH -- Welcome to Gillette Stadium, where the Patriots (4-0) host the Browns (2-2) today at 1 p.m.

It is 60 degrees and overcast. Wind could be a factor today, as the orange flags atop the goal-posts, particularly on the south end of the field, are rippling.

On the roster side, expect tight end Marcellus Rivers to return to the Patriots in the days following today's game. Rivers has not left the New England area following his release Saturday, and has no plans to do so.

Walt Coleman has been assigned to referee today's game.

We'll have more throughout the day.

No surprise with Rivers. I liked him in preseason, hope he gets to chance to play in the upcoming games. Although being behind Watson and Brady will be hard.

i think the weather will even out the teams a bit and could effect the game.

That will hurt the Browns if it's a running type game. They are 30th in the league in run defence. The Patriots are 4th in the league in running offence.

It's because NEM isn't allowed to post here so Patters, a pitiful excuse for a Moderator, intentionally skirted the rules by copying and pasting for him.

Patters sucks.

(sorry Pats1, just had to answer the question).

Wind helps us, all Anderson has is a deep passing game. The shorter more accurate passing Brady does is less hurt by the wind.

Things to watch
By Mike Reiss, Globe Staff

Two potential statistical areas to watch in today's game:

If WR Randy Moss catches a touchdown pass, he will become the first player since TE Ben Coates, in 1997, to total eight receiving touchdowns in a season.

RB Kevin Faulk needs six receptions to tie Gino Cappelletti for sixth place on the Patriots' all-time receptions list. Faulk has 286 career receptions.

Pre-game scene
By Mike Reiss, Globe Staff

Former Patriots linebacker Willie McGinest is loosening up on the field, and has taken the opportunity to catch up with some former teammates. He was chatting with linebacker Tedy Bruschi in the corner of the south end zone.

Also, right guard Stephen Neal -- who missed the last three games with a shoulder injury -- is on the field, loosening up while wearing his game pants.

I think patters had good intentions, but didn't think it though. He was wrong to do that, but he doesn't suck. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Now as far as the game is concerned, I expect that is will close in the first half and the Patriots pulling away in the second half.

like the custom title pats1

this is a great great football weather day in New Hampshire, and probably the rest of New England as well

temps in the 50's overcast, breezy, leaf peeping season getting into full gear, time to find a nice sweater, fire up the woodstove and pop a few ales

i hope all Pats fans enjoy the game today--I anticipate another dominant display, but will not be shocked if BB pulls up on RAC in the 4th and keeps things respectable

Caldwell had 1 drop all regular season i believe.

he had 2 in 1 game against Colts. WIDE OPEN

Stallworth at least had a bunch of guys around him and probably thinking of running before catching. Caldwell drop was 10000000x worse.

So what was the problem on the first drive when they couldn't pass their way in...LOL

It's almost always execution given the talent level and coaching expertise this team encompasses. Bill has been busting their asses for that very reason for 4 weeks now, and praising the playcalling of both his OC and DC.
