Maroney seems to be going in late first round , early second on a lot of boards. As a Pats fan, I would LOVE Maroney as a second RB, but not as a Low 1st.

I think he's a beast and is going to run for over 1100 yards, especially once the O line becomes adept at the zone blocking scheme, but don't we all expect Faulk and Morris to get a lot of the carries/throws on 3rd down and near the goal line?

I think the outsiders are missing this fact but I'd like to get the thoughts of fellow Pats fanatics.

Then again, if I pass him over for another running back and he becomes the
1st and 2nd workhorse AND stays in on 3rd down I will never forgive myself!

Heck, he went 6th overall in my draft, and all the other guys are Colt fans.....that tells ya something...:)

He went last in the first round of my draft. If you want him as your number 2 rb, hope that you are picking around the last two picks of the first round as you should have one of the first two second round picks then.

I personally think that a lot of people on this board are underestimating Maroney.

My friend drafted him with the 11th pick over Travis Henry. I laughed.

The same friend also drafted Brady at the end of the 3rd round. He's going to be rooting for the Pats with me this year.

Based on a 12 team league he is end of first, early 2nd. The guy picking 12 and 13 should end up with him.

Maroney has been very underrated in both drafts I've been in. I grabbed with pick 19 in my ten team leagues and 15 in my 8 team league. It's funny that in both leagues that I was in I picked #2 so on both of my teams I have Stephen Jackson and Laurence Maroney.

Maroney went 16 in my draft (I had the 19th pick where I ended up getting Bush).

i agree 100%. we also have heath evans for those situations, and a lot of times the pats do that really short pass to troy brown in short yardage situations that's a pass, but is used in situations where a running play might have been the call. overall i think the way the pats tend to spread around the wealth on offense, its not smart to take any of them too early.

Went 11th in mine between Rudi Johnson and Travis Henry.

I've taken him in both my fantasy teams. With the 14th pick in one league, the 17th in the other (I was pleased with that)

in my two leagues he went 12th overall in both, however one was an admitted homer pick and the other was picked by the yahoo draft computer because the guy whose team it was missed the draft...

scroll down to #19 - sounds a lot like what d-cleater was saying...

Looks like Maroney was draft too early. I got Travis Henry in round 2, and he is outperforming Maroney. Heck is my #1 back now in terms of points and yardage.
