Default GOP leader: "We need more 9/11's"

http://www.nwanews.com/adg/News/191942

Quote:
“At the end of the day, I believe fully the president is doing the right thing, and I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on [Sept. 11, 2001 ], and the naysayers will come around very quickly to appreciate not only the commitment for President Bush, but the sacrifice that has been made by men and women to protect this country,” Arkansas Republican Party chairman Dennis Milligan said.
So his failing party is so important to him that we wishes for the deaths of more civilians so Bush can move up from his 28% approval rating. Classy.

Well, you took the meaning out of context didn't you. He didn't say we NEED more, he said to appreciate what's being done we need more.

Well I can't help it if you can't parse a sentence correctly to gain it's full meaning.

He's saying "we need X to get Y". That does not mean we need X, but in order to get Y we need X.

You are definitely taking that out of context to support your own agenda.

The whole article is about how his party needs to improve from the November 2006 ass whooping. Then he says we need more attacks like 9/11 so more Americans will appreciate his party and the president. Hmmm. I wonder if he would like to see another tragedy.

You can wonder all you like, it's a free country to think as you wish. But he still didn't say it as you suggested.

What he said would be like a Democratic leader saying, "We need more deaths in Iraq so even more Americans will want to end the war."

Well we just read it differently.

He didn't say "We need some more attacks" he said "All we need is some more attacks" which has a totally different connotation. When you say "we need something" generally it's statement as a matter of fact need. When you say "All we need is something" it's generally some theoretical eyeball rolling kind of thing.

Like a Patriots fan saying "Harrison almost got hurt there".

Response 1 : "That's what we need".
Response 2 : "That's all we need".

Not the same thing.
