Default Michael Bush - Second Surgery (merged)

http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/...87/1002/SPORTS

"Gasparro said Bush thought this surgery would “help him heal quicker and be ready possibly by the time training camps start.”

It is unclear how long it will take Bush to recover from this surgery, but he won’t be able to participate in U of L’s pro day next Monday or able to work out before NFL scouts prior to the April 28 draft."

If we want to take a shot at a high upside big back, I doubt he's going on the first day - although I could be WAY off on that.

There are a handful of injured guys who otherwise project pretty well for the Pats -- Bush, Anthony Waters, maybe Brian Smith. While I wouldn't pull a McGahee for any of them, a team with this many low draft picks and this few holes could be tempted to shell out a second-day pick or two on a promising PUPpie.

Hmm, maybe he slides to the third. From what I had been hearing recovery was going fine, so his having another surgery would somewhat change his draft stock.

I agree. I have been following two injured guys for possible second day acquisition- Anthony Waters & DeAndre Jackson. IMO we will have lots of second day picks that are untradeable so why not go for potential high ceilings.

Yea, a lot of guys I like, or would like have injuries. This draft class seems a little unique in that sense. I mean, it just seems more of the prospects in this draft class are coming off injury, or have somewhat serious injuries within the past two years.

Default Michael Bush has another leg surgery

http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/...87/1002/SPORTS

he says he should be ready to go by training camp. This should drop him down to at least the 4th round. This guy is an absolute truck! His leg was broken, so it is not like he has muscle damage. I think he will be the steal of the draft if the Pats could grab him in the late 4th round.

Yea, the combination of Maroney, and Bush would be insane.

I think if he was there at 91, which I still doubt, we would have to pick him. PUP than IR him, unless injuries force us to use him. I figure that Bush would be an upgrade over Morris after this season. It would be unfortunate to only have 2 first day picks to contribute this season, but well worth it in the long run if he could become the player that many thought he was destined to be.
