Default Changes in net assets

This is a list of our "changes in net assets" looking forward, assuming the comp picks listed in AdamJT's thread. Pretty nice picture:

1- 24 - got for Deion Branch
1- 28 - our pick
2- 28 - used for Wes Welker
3- 91 - our #28
4-126 - our #28
5-170 - got for David Givens
6-176 - Texans' #6 - got for Brandon Gorin
6-198 - our #28
6-207 - got for Tom Ashworth
6-209 - got for Adam Vinatieri
7-250 - got for Tim Dwight

FA's:
Adalius Thomas
Donte Stallworth
Kyle Brady
Sammie Morris
Kelly Washington
new CB-ST guy

Back from injury:
Harrison
Wilson
Gay
Seau
Pass
O'Callahan

Gone:
Dillon
Davis
Banta-Cain

That's a net of +20 players, if we use all our picks, with +15 that are likely to make the team, and a +10 in impact players: Welker, 4 of the FA's, 3 of the injured, and the three day-1 picks, less Dillon.

Seau's not under contract, so you can't already count him as a net asset. I'm not even sure he's coming back to NE, if he does return to football this year.

I think your "gone" list looks kind of short. Most noticeable absence is Daniel Graham, but if you're counting "back from injury" guys like Gay (and even 2 -- Seau and Pass -- who aren't on the roster) then you have to count folks like Tebucky Jones, Mel Mitchell and Barry Gardner as gone.

We Also traded pick~150 (I'm to lazy to look it up- plus it will change next week w/ comp picks) to Oakland for Gabriel.

The Gabriel 5th rounder was already accounted for. I don't know how I left Graham out of there, will fix that. Seau is very questionable and should probably remove him.

Except that Mel Mitchell isn't gone.

Seau and Pass are both gone though.

This sort of analysis is probably best saved until right before training camp or the end of training camp.

Well, a lot's happened and I thought it was a good time to take stock. The draft pick numbers are assuming AdamJT's comp picks after rounds 3-6, and the fact that the 3rd round only has 31 picks in it. Thanks for the additions and correcting me about the Cardinals and Gorin.

My focus is on the impact players that we've gained vs those we lost, together with other events like the draft, injury returns, etc.

The fact that we're about +10 in impact players/picks as compared to what we had in January is a great sign. On every front - FA, draft, injury returns, and lost players - we're performing strongly.
