Our lives arent defined by how a sports team plays? People will always let you down if you make them your God because they are only human. Riches, relationships, our looks, all the things on the outside are temporary. Defining ourselves by them is like standing on sinking sand.
Colossians 3:2 tells us to "Set your mind on things above, not on things of the earth"
Our temporary victories here are great. Its ok to enjoy them. But dont lose perspective or lose heart when things dont go your way. Certainly not a loss by a football team.
Know that God has bigger things in store for you. Sleep well tonight because tomorrow is a great new day. Take a step toward the Lord and he'll take two toward you.

Sadly if you look on the main page, many people's god died yesterday and new hope will not return for a long time. What a terrible place to be.

But the good news is that the biggest battle has already been won. And that victory can be shared by all. We can choose to gain perspective and grow when things dont go our way, or stay in turmoil over the insignificant.
I choose today to be grateful for what has been given to us undeserved and to give to praise.

And Dr. Seuss tells us "Marvin K. Mooney will you please go now", but what does that have to do with anything?
What did god have for you today? Anything special? Anything not so nice? or did everything go perfectly?

Quite simply and to put it into perspective.. football is a game.. nothing more and nothing less. Our passion is not defined by our religious preferences, our passion is fueled by the need for a great diversion.. to overlay a religious meaning does nothing for me. To everything there is a time, and a time for everything.
