Default James Brown

Died on Christmas Day.
Remember Eddie Murphy doing "James Brown Celebrity Hot Tub"?
Heard a great interview today with the great Bootsy Collins, bass player in the James Brown Band in the late 60's, who went on to co-found Parliament Funkadelic with George Clinton, but more importantly, came up with the bass groove for "Sex Machine".
Where would the music scene have gone without the influence of JB? No funk, disco, music as we know it would have been very different.

Here's to a lousy father and husband but a kick-as soul man.

His scene as the church pastor in "The Blues Brothers" was a classic.

Great musician but I have to admit I couldn't stand him. I never understood that because I loved and still love Soul Music ... right below rock for me.

Anyways ... lots of background singing Soul Sisters awaiting him in the next life ... he'll be happy.
