I'll be seeing Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band in Worcester on Jan. 30. Last time I saw him live was waaaaaay back in 1975! His band opened up for REO Speedwagon at the Orpheum Theater in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The place was only about half full. Thirty-one years later, Bob is 61 and I'm ... 31 years older (gulp)! Really looking forward to the show.

Congrats, you old bastid. I myself haven't been to a stadium/theatre-type concert in about 15+ years (think it was the Simple Minds openin for the Pretenders at the Centrum) but I have the chance to see The Waterboys in Dublin in March so I have made the plunge. (It's not an age thing, I've always preferred seeing a band in a bar vs. a stadium/theatre. No really, I'm not old. I'm not.) |

I live in Las Vegas, and if you ever wondered "What ever happened to.... did they retire? No, they come here and play off strip casino's. I'm an 80's child, meaning I was late teen/ early twenties in the 80's and I like rock, not pop or whats in now, I'm a metal head. I go to these shows sometimes and relive my youth, sort of. Lots of great memories.

I have mocked the people who go to the endless 'final' Stones tours repeatedly and righteously; but I must admit that seeing Seger in concert is appealing. Even if he is 61.

I don't care how old these guys are, as long as they still sound good, the music is still there. I saw The Eagles about two years ago and it was great.
