Why can't we get real liberals like these kids to post over here?
I bet alot of these kids don't like Bush...but they have their priorities in order...i applaud them...we need to breed more like these kids.

Students at colleges across the nation will fast Thursday to raise awareness about the genocide in Sudan.
Representatives with the "Students Taking Action Now: Darfur" initiative are asking that people avoid buying a meal or other items that day and donate the unspent money.
"The most important thing is what we have the power to do as citizens," said Erica Solomon, co-founder of STAND's University of Arizona chapter and a media arts junior.

The public is invited to attend the group's 7 p.m. candlelight vigil and documentary screening Thursday on the north end of UA's Student Union Memorial Center, 1303 E. University Blvd.
The U.S. State Department has reported that from 60,000 to 160,00 people have been killed in the conflict in Darfur, a region in Sudan. The Bush administration has called the killings genocide.

This is the kind of liberalism and compassion America needs.

UA students have been collecting funds at the Hillel Foundation, 1245 E. Second St. and on the UA Mall. The money will go to the United Nations World Food Programme to benefit those in Darfur.

"I hope people will be moved to be engaged," Solomon said. "There are a lot of things the American public has the power to do - most notably is to put pressure on the government, send aid, write letters and call the White House comment line."
Engaged??? Yeah, they are engaged right now...they are engaged over Foley and "PageGate". Sudan? That is not America and those aren't Americans dying. We can't be talking about that with the election so close. Bush has been doing a great job applying pressure on the U.N. ... this story helps Bush and helps republicans...which means we can't touch it until after the elections...if even then.

If the democrats get control of Congress...looks like more from sudan will die...our buddy from this forum and his wanker friends at D.U. will be much too busy impeaching Bush...Sudan will have to wait for the 2008 President.
