Welcome to Gillette

FOXBOROUGH -- Welcome to Gillette Stadium, where the Patriots open their 2006 season against the Bills at 1 p.m. ET.

Temperatures are in the low 60s and skies are clear. Kickers might be challenged by windy conditions as flags around the stadium are rippling. Also, the field appears to be worn down at certain spots between the hash marks, so footing could also be a concern.

Two NFL scouts are scheduled to be in attendance today, from the Dolphins and next week's opponent, the Jets.

The referee for today's game is Terry McAulay.

We'll have more throughout the day.

Here's my prediction for a formation we'll see a lot today ... a four-receiver look with double tide-ends split out wide. The strength of this Bills team in run D is in the LBs, and spreading those LBs out to follow the TEs will give Dilloney big holes in the interior.

Spacing was terrible on that screen. They had about 5 guys practically in single-file. If those guys had spread out into different lanes, that play would've gone nowhere.

They have, but since the pass protetion is so horrible, it doesn't really matter. The Bills D-Line is getting pressure almost every single time Brady drops back and when he does get the ball off, it's gotten tipped about 75% of the time.
