Thanks Mikey...because Barkley said the same thing I have been saying for a while now.

The former NBA MVP, who is considering running as a Democratic candidate for governor in his home state of Alabama, also said Democrats have concentrated too much on criticizing President Bush in the last two years instead of focusing on what they can do to improve things in the country.

Way to go Barkely...I hope the democrats are paying attention...so we can have a real ISSUES ORIENTATED RACE INSTEAD OF THE GERITOL BOAT PEOPLE AGAIN.

Barkely goes on to say 3 things I agree with

''Religious people in general are so discriminatory against other people, and that really disturbs me,'' he said. ''My idea of religion is we all love and respect. We all sin, but we still have common decency and respect for other people.

He also said he supports gay marriage.

''I think if they want to get married, God bless them,''

''try to make a fair, honest decision for the majority of the people. Not the rich, not the poor, not the black, not the white,'' Barkley said. ''When you get elected to public office, you're supposed to represent everybody. Your job is not to take care of the rich or the poor or the black or the white. Your job is to take care of everybody.''

Yup...too much democrat republican base crapola for sure....I agree.

Barkley makes too much sense to get elected, his simplifying of issues is refreshing.

Barkley sounds like the Old Time democrat I used to vote for, but he won't make it today talking like that, the Uncle Teddy/Auntie Pelosi gang will destroy him, "The Haters" will eat him up.

I would still be a democrat if the party thought like him.

No major party would. I'd like to see the Libertarian Party, or any third or fourth party for that matter, try to recruit him.

I agree completely that is why I am voting anti incumbent this year, and I suspect millions of others all feel the same...it has been the lesser of two evils for quite a while now.
