Pats1 - Thanks SO much for taking the significant amount of time to put this together. Such a great overview to have.

I didn't requote, but this bumps the thread. Anyone interested should just pop up to the first post by Pats1.

"You can't make the club from the tub."
Hill was a bad pick in '04; someone that Bobby Grier would have taken, i.e., athletic, but with maturity issues.
I wanted Carlos Dansby at the end of the 1st round, then package the 2nd and 3rd round picks to take Watson, who was generally rated a mid 2nd rounder. The consensus #2 TE after Winslow, Ben Troupe, wasn't chosen until #40. Similar to what the pats wisely did with Chad Jackson this year.

This post should be stickied, and I guess pats1 could update it after every practice (though thats alot to ask).

I would, but the edit feature expires after about 8 hours.

I can do another one at the end of training camp.

I thought by his 3rd year Hill could be used as leverage(and insurance) against Seymour wanting a huge contract. He just doesn't have "it" I guess. The few times he's been on the field he has done nothing to distinguish himself. It's funny, Hill was coached by Saban, knew the 3-4, lots of LSU Pats etc and probably will be cut September 2.
One side note: I remember reading before the '04 draft that Hill suffered from a bipolar disorder. It was just listed, without any comments, on some fan based draft site. Perhaps this is hindering his development?

I still think the greatest hindrance to his development (besides the Klemm-luck injuries he keeps getting) has been the limited time he gets in games exercising his reads and technique to get that muscle memory tuned to game speed situations.
