I read the article. She did nothing. Lebanon/Hezbollah refused to meet with her, and Israel said they would ceasr fire for 48 hours to investigate the civilian deaths...and thenthey still need 10 14 days to finish their objective.

JERUSALEM (CNN) -- U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice canceled a trip to Lebanon and plans to leave Jerusalem for Washington on Monday, senior State Department officials said.


The Lebanese government called off talks with the United States in the wake of an Israeli airstrike on Qana, Lebanon, that killed dozens of civilians, many of them children.

Israel later said it had halted airstrikes on southern Lebanon for 48 hours to investigate the raid and to give residents a chance to leave safely.

Isreal's just got to get this over with. You can't negotiate with the Lebanese government because Hezbolla tolerates their presence, not the other way around, and you can't negotiate with someone who's stated position is that the other side must be completely wiped out. Isreal has made countless efforts at peace, the other side has done nothing but kill.

Hezbolla's position leaves me classifing them as rabid dogs who need to be put down. I ain't thrilled about seeing a bunch of dead babies, but there's times when there's no other choice. When Hezbolla is gone, reasonable people can sit down and make a deal that everyone can live with.
