Here are two who should be admired
1. Lee Marvin (RIP) Marvin was in the US Marines, earned a purple heart as he was wounded (bullet hit him in the arse and severed his sciatic nerve) in the battle of Saipan. He is actually buried in Arlington National Cemetary. 2. Charles Durning Durning served as a soldier in World War II, during which he was awarded a Silver Star and three Purple Heart medals. As a 21-year-old infantryman in the U.S. Army, he was part of the first wave of men to land on Omaha Beach as a member of the 1st Infantry Division on D Day in the Normandy Invasion. One of his injuries took place in the Battle of the Bulge, where he was one of the few survivors of the infamous Malmédy massacre on American POWs. |

James Stewart - no kidding. I never knew that had he worked his way up from Private to Brigadier General. I do know that Harvey is one the best films ever made.

Cannot understand the fascination with Hollywood actors, they are humans who are not elected to any decision making position. They are what they are talented people who get paid well to entertain.. They have a right to express their opinion, just like you or I, however they have publicists to make sure it gets all over the media...I think this is a fabrication of the right wing, for most of us does not make any difference what they say, and I for one am sick of their commentary and the subsequent spin. They are an alternative to intelligent discussion and often skew us all from the real issues confronting this country.
