Actually, the media dislikes Dick Cheney, as do the majority of the U.S. The guy does not answer to anybody, disregards diplomacy and is gruff, aloof and at times rude when talking to the media. So, when this shooting incident happened, do you think the press is going to say, Dick buddy, because your a good time guy we are pulling back on this one (maybe at FOX), thus the coverage, and the fact that the White House opted to be silent. I don't believe anyone except a sick individual would pray or want this person to die. If this person dies, the only people that would benefit would be the conspiracy minds. These people are called radicals, not liberals. They are included in both the democratic and republican parties. If you disagree with that assesment, then I guess the people who believe Clinton killed all those 24 people are liberals.

More broadly, if the VP does something in his private capacity, I don't see it as needing an official White House announcement. But if you're going to make one, and do it the day after, don't blame the paramedics.
