Default Gen. Peter Pace: Murtha Comments Hurting Troop Moral

01/05/2006
Gen. Peter Pace
Chairman Joint Chief of Staff
Quote:
When a respected leader like Mr. Murtha, who has spent 37 extremely honorable years as a Marine, fought in two wars, has served the country extremely well in the Congress of the United States, when a respected individual like that says what he said, and 18- and 19-year- olds look to their leadership to determine how they are expected to act, they can get the wrong message. That's damaging to recruiting. It's damaging to morale of the troops who are deployed, and it's damaging to the morale of their families who believe in what they are doing to serve this country.

I made what amounts to the same comments in a letter I sent to Rep. Murtha a month and a half ago. Rep. Murtha did not feel obligated to respond to my letter. Gen. Pace certainly carries more weight than I do on this matter. It will be interesting to see if Rep. Murtha will respond to Gen. Pace's comments. IMO, Rep. Murtha will instead choose to cut and run from Gen. Pace's remarks.

Sorry NEM....wrong again. Al Jazeera picks up every little treasonous word out of this scumball liberals and splashes it all over the middle East.

I would imagine that the Chairman of The Joint Chiefs of Staff knows more about what the troops are thinking than NEM does.

So NEM believes that our man in uniform is a facist. Next thing you know someone on the left will be declaring that are soldiers are in charge of gulags like Stalin's army or act like the savages of Pol Pot's militia. Eventually the left will have our troops kicking down doors and terrorizing innocent women and children.

Dont worry---the liberal scumballs already think that.

"In a statement released by Murtha, the decorated Marine veteran responded that the real damage to recruitment comes from prolonged deployments, inadequate equipment, and the 'lack of any connection between Iraq and the brutal attacks of 9/11.'"

But, of course, the righties don't care about those things because to do that would mean they would have to question Bush, and heaven forbid they should be anything other than toadies.

Nah, I'll have to say that Rep. Murtha's comments hurt the American military just a wee bit less than Bush's actions, namely sending our troops into a hopeless quagmire to get shot at by right-wing religious nutcases.

If you want to point fingers at who's hurting our military, look at the guy at the top.

What? You're asking the righties to take responsibility for what their candidate does? Please, they only talk about personal responsibility, but they certainly don't practice it. They're still blaming Clinton, those backward looking righties.
