Default Why Pats better spend to the cap..

Aside from the whole Brady getting older, team on the verge thing... The Pats chose to accept the additional cap space from Dallas/ Wash for this year as opposed to next year. By not spending to the cap this year would simply be throwing money away. They must have bigger plans

I bet 200 bucks they trade it for 500k in 2013 and 1.7 mill in 2014.

So even though the Pats can roll over any cap money not spent this year into next year's cap, any cap money not spent this year is throwing away money?

Sorry any cap money not spent this year just means more cap room in 2013.

I thought there was a min. of what teams could spend and it was like 98% of the cap? Anyways you gotta leave a few mill to sign players to replace injured guys. Just relax, 1.6 Mill isn't anything to get worked up about in March.

Its a matter of them spending the additional 16 mil to make it worth keeping the additional 1.8mill. Of course expecting much for some members on this board not to be overly protective and intelligent was thinking a little too much.

Well they won't spend TO IT because there is a need for a cushion, but otherwise I tend to agree. You do know though that if they do not, they can carry what they don't use forward to next year. They did that this year.

Again people, how did the major cap spenders like washington start this FA season with the 5th most money of all teams. People its all accounting stop qouting stories from the 2003 boston heralds.

Because they have no players left. And they cheated by dumping 36mill into 2010 that they now have to take off their cap.

Andy,

Cap space is only fun if you use it. Again that 1.8 goes to waste this year. I cheer onSundays, not for cap space.
