Default Is this team lazy?

When you think about prior championship teams they were really well balanced. We had a running game, a tenacious defense and really good special teams.

Now it seems to be..Tom will win it for us. Tom will do this. Tom will do that.

I mean seriously, this team needs to be rebalanced. Starting with the coaching staff.

Lazy how? This team went 14-2 this year, so what exactly are you suggesting within likely salary cap restraints - try harder?

The rules in the NFL have changed since those championships, and teams have had to adjust to win. The best defenses have given up high point totals this year, meaning the stricter contact rules are likely changing the game. Those teams must be viewed in the context of the game they played, even the game 6 years ago. There is no guarantee they would have done any more in the NFL as it is now.

Yet another idiotic proposition. This team likely outworks most every other one. The talent gaps in te NFL are small so it's all effort and execution. If this team were lazy like the Redskins or Cowboys we would have had a record like the Redskins or Cowboys.

i don't think they are lazy as such. however, i do think that the pats kids like butler, chung, gronk, mccourty, etc. probably felt that the game was in the bag since they had already beaten them 45-3 and sanchez was the QB. i agree they probably thought BB and Tom would bail them out.

"He’s the greatest quarterback to ever play the game. He goes from being a rookie that nobody is expecting anything from, to taking over with people saying he can’t do it, to winning three Super Bowls....It should already be obvious he’s the greatest quarterback to ever have played. "

If anything, it looked like guys were pressing too hard yesterday. It's a common theme to believe that guys aren't working hard enough when they crumble in big situations, but usually the opposite is true.

It was obvious the Patriots did not trust their instincts.

Yeah, I thought they looked tight after the first two drives into scoring territory netted an int and a fg, and henceforth starting pressing.

The Pats have relied on Brady far too much. Its mostly the coaches. When this team won championships they were fairly well balanced. They also had experinced coaches. This team does not have the experince, knowledge or smarts to adapt while the game is going on.

The rely too much on Brady. It is the easy way out. Its a LAZY approach.

Lazy isn't the right word. They gotta go through grind from training camp to the end of the season just like everyone else.

I think there is an inflated sense of ability on the defensive side of the ball. I know how probowl voting works, but it is hilarious to me that more players from the defense were selected than players from the offense. Brandon Merriweather now has as many pro bowl selections as Rodney F'n Harrison!

There is no maturity there, and they are never as hungry as the vets that we used to bring in. People used to make cracks about how old the defense was, but they got the damn job done.

Could not have said it better myself. The play where the defense was begging and pleading with Belichick to throw the challenge flag when he could not have had a good vantage point was horrendous. Stop relying on nonsense and get your asses off the field with some good stops.

Lazy is not a word that comes to mind when I think about the Patriots.
