I could for Rex, he would coach me up and allow me to play to my strengths.

At the end of the day it's all about winning. If Rex ****s the bed AGAIN this season and doesn't get inadvertently bailed out down the stretch like he did last season, the media will turn on him as they were beginning to late last season and Woody's fan base won't be far behind them. Same deal as with Mangenius, who was brought in not to entertain so much as to tease by mimicing genius. When it didn't pan out... meh. Before that it was another great motivator players loved to play for ('cause he wasn't all that demanding) and the media loved to cover. "You play... to win... the game" was his mantra. He's a mediot now.
Players loved playing for Rex's dad, too. Didn't translate into a successful HC, though.
I didn't watch the show but read about how Tannenbaum was talking about the Revis contract problem after meeting with one of the agents. It sounded as if he was frustrated and venting, which to me, made no sense to do on a show that is going to be aired before the contract gets resolved. He could have used the show to reach out to Revis personally and without the message being filtered by his agents, but instead it sounds like he was just whining and maybe even creating a more hostile situation.
Can anyone who watched comment on that segment?
I haven't had a chance to see the show (yet, I hope) but Mike Greenberg this morning talked about how there was no chance Tennenbaum wasn't playing to the cameras. As was pointed out today on PFT, the Jets have changed their entire approach to dealing with Revis. Worth a try, the old one certainly wasn't close to working.
IIRC, he actually thought his team was mathematically eliminated. A sportswriter had to correct him. I think if BB ever had to be corrected on such a thing by a sportswriter, he would hang it up right there.
In all fairness the Jets had a very small percentage of a chance at the time and it was practically a miracle that everything broke their way and they had a playoff shot. I think the percentage at the time was something under 10%.
If Belichick wasn't the HC of the NEP, I would want Ryan.
I'd want JMcD or even Urban Meyer long, long before I'd want Jabba the Hut here.

No, that is how Ryan always is, it's why Bart Scott mentioned in one of the interviews about who he would want to go into an alley with, Rex Ryan.
Please don't be naive to think Rex is a phony, because that is the exactly OPPOSITE of what he is. He's genuine, he has a loose cannon, but he's confident in what he does, and that is how he is, a FAR cry from the tightwad mumbles you have roaming the sideline.
Thing is, more than 90% of the fans that kill Rex, would KILL to have HIM as their team's head coach.
Do you think Rex gets his players to play as hard as they do for him, because he is a phony who likes a camera?
C'mon dude, I know you're a Jets hater, but be honest.
You do know that you're probably going to be back here panning the guy next season, right? We heard the same thing about Mangini from you guys after his first season. How he was great, better than BB, how fans of other teams, especially the Pats, would kill to have him. Fast forward one year and Jets fans were making excuses about a sophomore slump and how he's going to make a huge comeback with Favre. One year later, when everything falls apart, Mangini has suddenly always been a cancer and now Jets fans are ready to be rid of him.
Ryan isn't doing himself any favors running his mouth. Believe me when I say that most teams aren't afraid and aren't buying into his dog and pony show. Most teams probably look at the Jets and see a team who got lucky to even get into the playoffs last year. The same way most of those teams' fans look at the Jets.
The Jets are simply the bully marching around with his chest out to the big kid in school right now, shouting and talking **** about how he's going to beat the big kid's ass. Meanwhile, the Dolphins are the other big kid in school sitting quietly in the corner with a 100 mile stare in his eyes. They scare me more than the Jets do.
