I'd put up a poll but many people have different reasons to hate the Colts.
I will say that I shouldn't hate the Colts. I love football and they do play good football. I also respect them and I think that year in and year out they do a good job in drafting and bringing in players.
But, that's as far as I go. Behind the Giants and Jets, I hate the Colts next.
I guess that it goes back to their whining all the time. Then there is Polian. And they play indoors, now in a place I call The Lube. And then there is the media who every year over rates them and ball washes them all the time.
And their one SB came to them because of a cheap shot by Bobby Wade and the flu. Then they get to play against the worst QB ever to play in a SB and get it handed to them.
I have more reasons but I don't want this to be a rant.
Why do you hate the Colts?

Because they have threatened me with
rain when I wanted it fine, they have
found fault with the balance of my

to buy my brown mare. If it will be
of any satisfaction to you, however,
to be told I believe their character

irreproachable, I am ready to confess
it. And in return for an

You cannot deny me the privilege...
of disliking them...

I have to say, I really used to hate the Colts, but I personally don't hate them anymore nearly as much as some other teams (San Diego, for example). A lot of the whining was in the past.
Obviously we are rivals and I "hate" them as one of our biggest foes. But I respect the heck out of what they have accomplished, particularly over the past few years.
There are really only a few reasons why I "hate" the Colts:
1. Bill (Na)Polian. He's irritating as heck, especially the way he pulls the strings on the rules committee and how the Colts seem to get the calls at home. But of course, he's successful on his own terms, and other people find BB irritating as heck for being successful and doing things on his own terms too.
2. Colts fans. They bug the heck out of me. But so do Jets and Steelers fans.
3. Manning. He used to irritate me a lot because of his whining and always pointing the finger at others when things went wrong. But he has really stepped up as a leader and elevated his game whatever the issues. It's hard to do anything but respect him right now, as clearly someone in the GOAT discussion.
4. National bias. The thing that bugs me the most is the national impression (fostered by ESPN and others) that the Pats are "cheaters" and are the "bad guys" whereas the Colts are squeeky clean lily white All American heroes. It drives me nuts.
But again, my hate for the Colts has largely turned to grudging respect. I hate the Steelers much more right now. In 2005 I was thrilled when the wild card Steelers upset the Colts. Now it would be the other way around. If we don't win it all this year I'd much rather see the Colts win #2 this decade than the Steelers win SB #3 (though I'd prefer an upstart like NO, Minny or Cincinnati). Not that I really want to think about those alternatives.

My hatred has merged with grudging respect. I acknowlege that Peyton Manning is one of the best ever to play the QB position. And the Colts org has constanly managed to find capable WRs and decent defensive players out of no-wheres-ville. If BB respects them, why shouldn't I?
That said, I despise their petty GM Polian for what, from my enemy viewpoint, seems like overbearing influence on the NFL competition (rules) committee that has resulted in rules changes targeting the Patriots. And yah, I cringe at the Manning Face and his penchant for tossing his players under the bus when plans 'oft gang aglee'.
EDIT: Just read Mayo's prior post made while I was typing and I could not agree more

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.
This is known as "bad luck." RAH
1. Peyton Manning gets passes on this such as "begging for calls" when Brady gets thrown under the bus for it by fans and media alike.
2. Bill Polian and his rule changes when his team lost big games.
3. A lot of douchebag fantasy football idiots root for the Colts just because they have a boner for Manning.
4. The Colts are generally looked at as the "good guys" of the NFL. Why? Because Manning has funny commercials? Give me a f'n break.
5. Their fans are complete *******s, for the most part (there are quite a few good ones, though, and some of them post on here). Quick to call the Pats cheaters when it's been proven that they've piped in crowd noise in the stadium in 2007 when the Pats offense was on the field. It's also a fact that members of Tony Dungy's staff introduced Jimmy Johnson to the same video taping practices that the Pats got caught for. Funny how Colts fans never want to acknowledge that.
That's about all I can think of right now. I'm sure I'll be back with more.

IMO, I think any Pats fan should have an, at the very least, small amount of hatred in their heart for the Colts. Not only have they been one of our biggest rivals this decade, but they also used to be division foes. That's also part of the reason why I hate them.

I don't hate them so much as RESENT them and their holier than thou former HC and the QB with the massive forehead empty stats and that obnoxious NE bred GM who insists on calling us the Pa-tri-OTS, and the media that fawns all over them for distracting far more deserved attention from a dynasty that exists in their meager midst.
I will say in all honesty, I actually think Manning has far better comedic timing and makes a lot funnier pouty faces than Brady.
I think I have alot of respect for the Colts, more than any other rival in all of Boston sports. Starting with Peyton Manning, he"s had some unbelieveable games against Pats 2006-8. You feel lucky to be apart of 2 HOF QB's in their prime dueling it out. Dungy was easy to dislike, especially after Spygate. Colts G.M. Bill Pollian really drew Patriots wraith to him, not so much the team. My most hated rivals in the Belichick era in order; Steelers, Jets, Dolphins, Chargers, Bills, Colts.
