Default Atheists'/agnostics' thread

As this part of the board seems to have been taken over by Christians a little, I thought I should add some balance. I don't believe in God, I am pro gay rights, I am living in sin as a very lapsed Catholic (living with a half Jewish Miss Gomezcat) and liberal in many respects. I LOVE all forms of Rock and Metal music, drink, swear and blaspheme. I fart in public as well. I'm off to the big place down below when I die. Does anyone want to join me? Miss Gomezcat does!

Good idea, Gomez. Maybe for added balance I'll start a spiritualist thread for non-religionists/atheists/agnostics who do believe in spiritual guidance. Your admitted farting in public habit bothers me a tad, however.

Ah, that would be a great idea. I quite like some of Taoist philosophy. I am not 100% atheist, tbh, as I can't get my head around what or who started the Big Bang. It's just the organised stuff that isn't for me.

Finally! A thread for me!

Actually I'm a dyslexic agnostic inomniac.

I stay up all night comtemplating whether or not there is a Dog.

Seriously I tend to avoid classifying myself but I do attend a Unitartian church, which fosters the belief (in addition to welcoming ALL peoples no matter their race, creed or orientation) that there is One God who over time has spoken to many different peoples, in many different cultures, in many different ways.

Hence, there are teachings of profound wisdom to be found among nearly all the religions - Christians, Muslims, Buddhist, Hindus, Pagans, Native cultures etc...

God's a pretty smart cookie - he knows that different peoples can benefit from a different messenger using analogies that relate to their unique culture. That's not something one needs to fear or speak out against.

The comonalities between the major religions are many and the major differences I think can be attributed to mankind's ability to get the message wrong and screw things up over time.

And here I thought this thread was beginning to pick up a little steam......I don't think that was a pun.....and suddenly it begins to drop off the chart. Come on! Where are all of you atheist/agnostic prosyletizers? Take care, CPF

P.S If we used the latin derivative for agnostic as opposed the Greek, I wonder how many of you would fancy calling yourself an ignoramus
