He's a 34 year old 2 guard. He's still good for his age, but he's certainly on the decline. I think he will be seriously shopped before the deadline. His contract is worth something to some teams, that want to shed payroll. I heard Sacramento might move Kevin Martin for Allen, since they have Evans, and are in a small market. Moving Martins contract, with maybe Nocioni, would save them a ton of coin.

I've not had time to follow the Celts too closely - caught the first half of the game against the Magic where they were up 11 and lost the lead... no surprise to me when they lost that game - the way the Magic was playing in the first half they should have been up 30 and weren't. I could tell the Celts were setting themselves up to lose a lead by not playing hard and that's what happened.

I heard the same thing as you about Allen's contract being worth something in trade to teams looking to dump salary and add a guy with a big contract that's due to expire.

My only concern is that the Celts gain an albatross contract or two in the process, but I guess the only real choice is to take a "win now" approach given the makeup of the team and the limited time to have Garnett and Pierce put up another banner.

It was noted by Michael Holley that Danny Ainge's outlook - even with himself, Bird, Parish and McHale, was that they should have been traded before they were.

If that's his outlook then I think it's a given that the current Big Three will be broken up sooner rather than later.

i guess everything must come to an end but he has been the least injury prone/most consistent of the big 3 and i would hate to see him go, but i guess this team is moving towards a rondo led team how long before you think pierce/garnett leave?

I went to UCONN while he was playing there, so Ray's been my favorite Celtic since he joined the team.

Great game by Jesus Shuttlesworth tonight. Don't expect to see him in anything but a C's jersey next year. His salary doesn't get completely freed up if they let him walk because of the complexities of the luxury tax, so the C's are better off just keeping him.
