I don't think that the perceived battle of Evans vs Cobbs will come down to what the coaches see from the sideline of their backups and hopefuls against those of the Giants less than forty-eight hours before the decision has to be made.

I write perceived because I don't think that Cobbs passed Evans on the depth chart after the game against the Redskins.

Giants Stadium

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Welcome to Giants Stadium, where the Patriots visit the Giants in their preseason finale tonight (7:30 p.m. ET).

Some Patriots players, such as linebacker Mike Vrabel, defensive lineman Marquise Hill, center Dan Koppen, linebacker Junior Seau, and tight end Benjamin Watson are loosening up on the field at this time.

We'll plan on passing along updates throughout the night.

I encourage everyone to use the game thread to post thoughts and observations - it's a great benefit to those who can't see the game or be in the live chat room and wish to look back see comments on it.

There will be no money, but on your deathbeds you will all receive total conciousness. And some cous cous.

Besides, I remember trying to log in to the chat room in years past and it was impossible to follow, and it downloaded all sorts of crap onto my computer.

Great Gil and Gino lines:

Tanguay: "So who are some of the young guys who we didn't expect to make the roster awhile back but might?"

Gil: "Andrews, Cobbs, Woods. What about you, Gino?"

Gino: "Little John Flowers, Triandos Luke..."

Gil: "Uhh, that's the wrong team..."

Gino: "Oh! Sinorce Moss, Visanthe Shiancoe, Na'Shon Goddard...can you believe some of these names football players have these days?"

Gil: "I think you're drifting further away from the question."

...

Tanguay: "Are you two up for some 2006 WBCN fantasy football?"

Gil: "I've never indulged in fantasy football in my life, I have no idea what to do, therefore I am positive that I will win."

[laughter]

Gil: "Looking at the ham and eggers I have to face."

Gresh: "Haha! He rolled out a Freddie Blassie line!"

No Brady is even better. No chance of the franchise getting hurt.
