Default Had it done

Had my left hip replaced last Thursday and got home yesterday. I was so nervous about it, but now I'm actually looking forward to getting the right done on July 10th.

Wow, that's quite a procedure. How are you feeling? - Ian

Hip replacements are no joke. Are they going to put you through physical therapy?

I feel great except the pain from the surgery. I've had osteoarthritis in my hips for prolly about 4 years. It got progressively worse over the years. Only found out last year what was causing the pain. The surgeon said the ball of the femur was nowhere near round, which I could see in the xrays. I told him to take a picture of the right one when he takes it out next month.

They're going to come to my house. He said for now it'll just be improving mobility. In about a month they'll start with strengthening. He said since I'm young, 37, I will have no problems. I was really nervous before the surgery, now I can't wait for the next one.

He said they are metal on metal and should last 30+ years. It's definately going to make it easier hiking up to section 304 come the fall.

A win is a win - and even if it is ugly or giftwrapped from the opponent, I'll take it

Good Luck. Be patient. Physical therapy takes time to work.
