Let's have a "Marketplace" Forum

I'd like to see a forum where we can buy, sell and provide info on deals, sellers, etc on Patriots tickets, memorabilia, etc.

I purchase a lot of Pats stuff as do many of us and I'd like to be able to share deals that I find and hear about deals that others find. Maybe HSN.com has Patriots t-shirts on clearance for $6.99 or Amazon has a 25% off coupon code and free shipping.

Maybe you're looking at an "authentic" jersey on ebay. Does this seller really have authentics or are they the knock-offs from Hong Kong? Maybe you're okay with the knock-off as long as it looks good since its so much cheaper. Did you get the item in reasonable time and was the description accurate?

Maybe I have an extra pair of tickets for the Pats at Dolphins that I'd like to sell to another Pats fan at cost or for a profit instead of putting it on eBay.

There's a good thread on buying Pats tickets on the main forum and stuff like that could go here too.

I know there are plenty of issues but every buyer and seller would be advised that any transactions are your own responsibility but I know I'd feel more comfortable buying an extra ticket from a regular poster such as pats1 than somebody I don't know at all on craigslist.

Any interest in such a forum?

This is my first time in the Pub and I know it doesn't get a lot of visitors so I won't be surprised if no one really sees this but I had to at least try.

Looking at it from the other angle, it might be a good use for the "Pub" -- I think quite a few people check it out anyway and, of course, more people would if it had another function as well.

But I'm fine with what Ian and the mods decide -- either way.

As an idiot, I voted Don't Care before thinking it through. Could not care less about memorabilia (my kneejerk reaction) but I really would like a forum to exchange tix at face value. I myself have access to great seats but not always. It would be a great service to Pats fans.

The problem, as I see it, is that this forum may become a conduit for spammers.. how will we know the difference??

Well I guess amongst regulars, the post count and reputation kind of helps - a bit like eBay. But with newcomers coming on or others it is quite difficult.

People buy and sell thousands and thousands of things everyday on Craigslist and there you have absolutely no history available or even user registration to give you comfort.

They do provide these simple common sense guidelines however and apparently that is enough to keep their marketplace running smoothly and efficiently.
