Default Van Halen W/David Lee Roth Reunion Tour

Ahhh time to get in the time machine and relive some great music.

Roth set to rejoin Van Halen for tour.

A Van Halen reunion tour, with David Lee Roth back in the fold after 22 years, is in the works, with a Las Vegas launch looking good.
A late April date at the Palms' new venue, The Pearl, is "99 percent" likely, a source said.

It would be the latest coup for Palms owner George Maloof, who will open the 2,500-seat venue with a lineup that includes Tool, Evanescence, Gwen Stefani and possibly Van Halen, all in the first month.
A 40-date tour is being discussed

Roth fronted the band from 1974 to 1985 before going solo. He was close to rejoining about 11 years ago, but a blowup caused another rift.
Van Halen's last tour, in 2004, grossed about $40 million, with Sammy Hagar as the lead.

Tool would open the Palms venue March 16-17, Evanescence would follow on March 17, and Stefani is set for the April 21 grand opening.

I saw them on their 1984 tour. It was fun but, that was enough for me.

Yup - that was my 2nd concert. A good show - perfect for my Jr. High School taste in music. I don't think they've evolved a whole lot beyond that.

Still, lots of fond memories - as well as fond lack of memories from that time.

(I'm not even sure I can recall what year that tour was)

Please they killed disco. Go listen to VH1 or Fair Warning, who was more EVOLVED in their genre at the time.

I'll be there, my favorite band, I have seen them plenty with Sam but never with Dave.

I'm not a big Van Halen fan - Eddie had some great solos but they weren't great songwriters, especially in the Dave era. I do have their GH, though, and would probably go see them if I lived closer to a real city.

They were one of my favorite bands back in the day. I liked them with Sammy (5150, OU812, and For Unlawful Carnel Knowledge were all great albums), but it's over now. This is a tour they don't really want to do (they can't stand Roth, which is why they didn't get back together with him after the Sammy Split)

It's real simple, it's all about $$. They'll use the hall of fame induction to fuel interest in the tour and probably make a killing anyway. After all, they grossed 40-million with Sammy during their last attempt at a comeback, and now they'll gross another 40-million with Roth. Now they'll be able to go relax on a beach when it's over

You guys gotta be shytting me!!! I am definitely going to try to get to that show. Last chance to see the Original VH with Dave as front man. That band ushered in the whole hair band, sunset strip genre of music. That first album revived and redirected metal. (I know, AC/DC and others were toiling then too)

Its like seeing a FLoyd reunion with Roger Waters. If they had played that one set in the US for that crappy super concert, I would have done about anything to go to that one, too.
