I could write for Twenty Foah
Let's see...Let me predict... A brutha is the President...Check! Terrorists attack! Whoa! Of course, we couldn't let these 'terrorists' be Muslims. No way! Let's be Hollywood and give them vague Eastern European accents. So PC. Next, let's have uber-geek Chloe show some mega angst. (Am I the only one who has the secret hots for Chloe? Nice rack!) CTU suffers. A mole moles away. Then the baddies dish out some major punisment to Jack. Chloe types REAL fast and does some way cool computer ****. Tables turn. Jack, "I need it NOW!!!" Now, Jack deals out some SERIOUS PUNISHMENT. Bad guys suffer. We love it! No Abu Ghraib wossieness here. Denoument, but ambiguity reigns. -philw (LOVES 24) |

Glad there's a 24 thread on here.
I love every season, but will admit that each season gets slightly less good as the one before it. It's changed a lot, and it's probably a matter of taste, but I prefer seasons 1 and 2. Season 1 was so dark and noir-like, you can't top Jack Bauer riding around in a car-jacked limo threatening to stuff a towel down a guys throat. I think either Season 1 or Season 2 are probably the best seasons of any TV show I've ever seen. Season 6 should be pretty solid. All things I'm reading point to it being pretty amazing. |

I never would have pegged you as a "24" fan... But yes, as predictably unpredictable as the show is, it's still good entertainment - even if it does require one suspending common sense for an hour each week Ironically you'll find that NEM is a big Jack Bauer fan as well - which I find funny and ironic given his political views.

I don't venture into the politics forums, I'll wager a guess that NEM is a liberal based on what you said - I see no reason why a liberal wouldn't like 24. Anybody can and should enjoy the show for the adrenaline rush at the very least. Personally, as for the politics of the show, I appreciate the messages in the show and I'm not liberal or conservative, I'm a little of both in different situations I suppose. From what I've read, season 6 of 24 is supposed to have a liberal message delivered early on in the season's run - take it for what it's worth, I doubt the writers intend on taking one side or the other. |

If you want dark and character driven you should check out Battlestar Galactica on SciFi. If you haven't already then you must start from the beginning.

Good character development - decent acting, good storylines as well... obviously trying to use some circumstances to paralell current affairs, but they're not overbearing with it either

I don't know if I get the SciFi network, but I'll give this a look out on DVD perhaps. Is it anything like Serenity/Firefly?

I've never seen those shows. But, if you want to watch Galactica make sure you start with the 4 hour mini series.
