Default The Departed

This movie deserves its own thread.

It's easily the best movie I've seen in years. Amazing dialogue, absolutely brilliant performances by the entire cast (especially Leo, who up until now I was not a fan of). There are a few iffy things in the plot, but none of them are important enough to bring down this great, suspenseful, powerful movie.

If you haven't seen this, take the bye week and go see it this weekend.

It was pretty decent, but I don't think I am quite as enthusiastic about it as you seem to be. Certainly nothing worth missing a Sunday of football for... but worth going to see on an off day...

I agree. I was so looking forward to this film I saw it on it's first day out. I felt I got my money's worth but, it was just wasn't the film I had hoped it would be. With that cast and Martin Scorsese directing it should have been Goodfellas quality. But, there were no scenes that stood out and could have been cut down to about 120 minutes. Perhaps my expectations were too high. As I say it was definitely worth the price of admission. But, I doubt I would ever watch it again.
