Default Red Lights

The ones you stop at, not to get out your wallets. Anyway, I saw the other post on traffic tickets and not being able to sleep, thought I'd ask this question. Why do people blatantly run red lights? In the last few years I've lived in a number of different states and its all the same. I can squeak threw a yellow, maybe just turns red as I cross over, and I'll be thirty to forty yards down the road, look in my mirror and a vehicle will be right behind me cruising through the red. I figure with all the members here, there must be some who intentionally run lights ( I say that because its getting to be epidemic proportions). Just curious on why you do it? I remember one time in Dallas, I was stopped at a red, turned green and got off the line quickly, a car ran the light and went through behind me. I don't get it, anyone have any thoughts.
