They signed two huge free agens today.
The problem is, the two free agents are grossly overrated and now overpaid. The Bruins bring in the talent, don't pay them, trade them away for eggs, then sign lesser players to bazillion dollar deals. Just great. Chara was pretty good during the season, mut he was MIA during crunchtime. |

Chara for 7.5M is overpaying, but he is a #1 defenseman, and along with Mara and Stuart the Bruins now have three of the top 20 defensive scorers in the league last year. Now, real overpaying, try Kubina to the Leafs for 5M... or Hall Gill to the Leafs for 2.1M. Last edited by primetime; 07-01-2006 at 03:48 PM.. |

I don't think either man is overpaid. Both great signings. Jovanovski got $6.5. Kubina got $5. D-men are at a premium, and we got the best one available. Better than paying $2.1 for Hal Gill.
My only problem is I can't complain about Jacobs (for) now.

In my opinion, Hal Gill is the biggest reason the bruins have stunk in recent years! Just the fact that he is no longer with them will get them more wins.
Chara is a terrific defenseman, he's just a faster more skilled player than Hal Gill could ever dream of being. I'm thrilled with this move. I'm not really familiar with Savard, but his numbers speak for themselves. The new GM has only been with the team a couple weeks and i'm already liking the things he's doing. go bruins |

Well, in theory, all these moves are being made by Gorton. Chiarelli is stuck in Ottawa until the 15th. If he had anything to do with the Chara deal, that would be tampering, and we all know he wouldn't do that.

I'm starting to get excited about the bruins again. They sure were getting hard to watch last year. Especially after they let go of Sergei and Joe. I'm hoping Sergei will come back this year, i think he is a free agent. |
