We had a mini tropical storm-like wave move through the state today. It was about 20 minutes or so and when it was over there was a DOUBLE RAINBOW in the sky....pretty cool.
Did anyone see this elsewhere in the NorthEast???

Not to burst anyone's bubble but the double rainbow effect isn't all that uncommon... its a secondary refraction through the raindrops (as the colors are reversed if you noticed!) but is a lot dimmer so often times they are unnoticed.
If you go out of your way to look for them from now on you'll see them more. I believe 3rd and 4th rainbow reflections are also possible but those are VERY rare and I've never seen one - not even a photograph All are very nice to look at though! |
