My daughter was born on Father's Day - so I get totally ripped off... what's supposed to be MY day winds up being all about HER birthday... talk about inconsiderate
Oh sure, some people point out that had she not been born I'd be completely irrelevant on Fathers' Day anyways, but what do they know? ![]() I was hoping that baby #2 might return the favor to my wife and wait til this weekend to be born, but its looking like it'll be today or tomorrow at the latest now We'll be heading off to the hospital soon I guess... just waiting for things to progress a bit more... -in all seriousness, having witnessed childbirth for the 2nd time now I've got no problem getting flowers on Mother's Day... no matter how much of an active particpant I am, its not quite the same (of course, I keep reminding her... "its not UterYOU, its UterUS!")

Joe, you realize of course, that Father's Day is a floating holiday. I'm assuming you celebrate your daughter's birthday on the same day every year. Some years your wife will have to share as well. Good luck.
My birthday falls on Mothers' Day every few years. It used to be that my birthday helped me remember Mothers' Day was coming up. Now Mothers' Day reminds me that my birthday's coming up. And Happy Mothers' Day to all the Mothers out there.

The turnabout? Our last one was born on April 27th. 2 days before my wife's birthday. |

Well, we came through everthing with flying colors - Quinn Joseph was born just before 9pm last night
I say "we" but of course my wife did all the real work... (but then again, as I kept telling her, its not "uterYOU", its "uterUS"!) Births don't go too much smoother though - she was in control the whole time, even insisting that we and the family all go out to eat. There's a great restaurant 5 minutes from the hospital we'd been wanting to try, so it seemed like a good opportunity. I think we freaked out the hostess and staff, as when they asked when she was due, I calmly explained her contractions were currently 6 minutes apart... and could they make her food extra spicy to help move the labor along better Indeed that worked as expected and by the end of the meal her contractions were about 3-4 minutes apart - at which point we quickly dropped enough cash to pay the tab and drove the 5 minutes to the hospital. We got settled in, and after about an hour of active pushing we had a healthy baby! (I had quite the vantage point as well!) I was incredibly happy and proud as I looked down and saw that he was a boy... slightly less proud when I figured out that I was only looking at the umbillical cord - but indeed, we've got a potential 2028 Patriots draft choice on our hands now Thanks for all the well wishes!

Congrats. My wife and I are expecting our first in seven weeks. I hope she has it half as easy.
And your wife will have to share Mothers' Day every few years. So you're even.
