Default Top 5 Most Brutal Movie Deaths

Watching "Braveheart", I got the idea for a thread. What are your top five worst movie deaths of all time? Here are mine...

1. William Wallace (Mel Gibson) - "Braveheart"

2. Nicky Santoro (Joe Pesci) - "Casino"

3. Officer Alonzo Harris (Denzel Washington) - "Training Day"

4. Casey Becker (Drew Barrymore) - "Scream"

5. Santino "Sonny" Corleone (James Caan) - "The Godfather"

If I sit around long enough, I could probably come up with a top ten. What is your top five?

I guess I should expand on my choices for anybody that has been living under a rock and hasn't seen these movies...

- Tortured, racked, hung, and disemboweled before finally being beheaded.

2. Nicky Santoro (Joe Pesci) - "Casino"
- Beaten savagely with basbeball bats before being buried alive (barely) with his brother.

3. Officer Alonzo Harris (Denzel Washington) - "Training Day"
- Shot to death by Russian mafia.

4. Casey Becker (Drew Barrymore) - "Scream"
- Stabbed, hanged, gutted, and left for her parents to find.

5. Santino "Sonny" Corleone (James Caan) - "The Godfather"
- Shot to death by the mafia.

What is your beef with this death? Not violent enough or historically accurate enough?

You misunderstood me. Worst as in "most brutal".

If you meant it to be "most brutal" you should have said that...

I'm terrible at making these kind of lists but the ones that stand out to me:

Billy Bats getting beaten beyond recognition by Tommy and Jimmy in "Goodfellas"

Still cringe at the murder of the guards by Hannibal Lecter in "Silence of the Lambs"

Bonnie and Clyde getting shot up by the police were nicely done and historically accurate(mostly)...20 years later and it would have been even more gruesome but not badly done for that era.

And always get misty at the death of Jim Malone in "The Untouchables"

Good list. I didn't want to put "Goodfellas" in mine because I didn't want to weigh the list down with two Scorsese movies. I was hoping someone would mention it. Forgot all about "Silence of the Lambs".

Good list. Dels botched execution in "The Green Mile" is right up there and the "Psycho" shower scene is a classic.

Different circumstances, different movie plot, different plot device...I'd probably have a bigger problem with it being the same two actors involved in both scenes, their roles just reversed

Murphy's death in Robocop.
