See, this is the problem with the WWE nowadays. Why is McMahon still on the show? His act died with the Austin feud. Granted, I haven't really followed it since, but I have seen some shows here and there and he's ruining his own product. I'd tune in if Hart AND Austin returned and went into a mini-feud with one another.

I watched the end of Impact and saw all I needed to see. WWF retreads (Val Venis doing the porn gimmick, Ric Flair, Taz) and the nWo beating up Mick Foley. I don't know what rock Sean Waltman crawled back out from under, but he needs to return to it post-haste.

OTOH, I really enjoyed the Bret Hart stuff (until the end...like we all didn't know Vince was going to attack him), but the rest of the show was not incredibly interesting. Seeing Triple H and HBK dressed in that DX stuff is depressing. Jericho is clearly the most entertaining person they have these days, and in a just world he would be the champion.

It's depressing when both shows are pulling out late 90's references to get the fans excited. I don't know about you guys, it just make me feel old. (and before anyone asks, I have no idea on how to fix it; I think in 10 years wrestling will be over with and a more flamboyant MMA will take it's place)

I stopped watching wrestling years ago, but I was big into it for many years. I loved, loved, loved the Hart Foundation angle, the original DX (RIP Rick Rude), and the beginning of the so-called "Attitude" era. That was when they were still losing to WCW every week, and they HAD to step up their game and complete. It's sad how many references I still get from wrestling today, they really are hanging on.

Bret's story is tragic, almost as tragic as his brother Owen's (my favorite wrestler ever). The bottom line is that sport chews people up and spits them out either crippled, crazy, or dead.
