Default Godfather vs. Goodfellas

I'm more of a Goodfellas guy. My two favorite scenes are when Tommy does in Sam Jackson and when Tommy gets "made".

Godfather II in a TKO.

Godfather III never happened.

If I had to choose I'd pick I over II. Always go with the original.

Which is why Godfather (I or II) is the option.

There have been exactly three sequels in movie history that should've been made: Rocky II, The Empire Strikes Back, and Godfather II.

Robert DeNiro's performance in Godfather II is the best acting performance I've seen in my life, which is why I give it the edge over I.

I think a lot of sequels/trilogies etc. are good, it's just that they'll never be able to match the original. Rocky IV, for example, is a great movie, just not as good as Rocky. The only time I've seen improvement along a series of movies is LOTR.

Speaking of (in this case, unwanted) sequals, I'm so pissed that Kevin Smith is making Clerks II in colour...WTF??? Take a look.

Godfather and Goodfellas are both in my top 20 maybe even top 10. But, the 2 films are very different styles.

Goodfellas is a great film but I prefer the "feel" of Godfather, especially 2. It seems to have a little more subtlety to it.

I love Goodfellas but the Godfather, had so many great scenes, acting and story it wins easy. Would have been better to make the poll with Godfather 1 and 2 separate.

Love them both (all). Agree with Dryheat, III never existed in my mind. I'd have to pick the Godfather though for my favorite. Goodfellas is a great story but each Godfather is an epic. To be honest I can't decide between I or II though, it's like trying to pick which of my children I love more.
