Default Comic Book wars renewed...Spider-Man, meet Mickey Mouse

The Associated Press: Disney to buy comic book powerhouse Marvel for $4B

Walt Disney Corporation has bought Marvel Entertainment, Inc. for a reported $4 billion.

Marvel now as a huge cash lifeline that they had lacked for years that rival DC Comics has had in the hand of their owners, Warner Brothers.

This is an extension of their prior purchase of the Marvel Productions backlog that were purchased when the company bought Saban Entertainment and Fox Family Channel in 2001 from Fox. The contents of the purchase were pretty great works which included their 1990s X Men, Fantastic Four, Iron Man, and Spider-Man series as well as the earlier Spider-Woman, 1978 Fantast Four series, and 1981 Spider-Man series and 1981 Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends series.
