Default And then there's Maude...Bea Arthur, 86

Anyone in their 40s grew up watching shows like Maude. As Rosie attests here YouTube - Rosie sings the theme from "Maude" to Bea Arthur

A family spokesman attributed her death to cancer.

R.I.P.

Yeah, that sucks. I remember in the 1980s and/or '90s she would host the "American Comedy Awards", which was this awards show that didn't really mean anything, it was more about parodying other awards shows then the awards. Her deadpan, disapproving mother delivery was hilarious. One year she came out on stage and said "Welcome to the fifth [or whatever it was] annual American Comedy Awards. Who knew it would get this far?"
