Do you really think his career is over for smoking dope? Is that an amateur mandated rule or something? Really, I don't know. I would have figure maybe a suspension, but career over?

I just don't get it. Why do people (edit: Americans) have such a big problem with marijuana? The article suggested it was acceptable, albeit a bad decision, to get drunk, but taking a hit just ruined his life?
I still don't get why Marijuana is a banned drug in sports. In many international countries/places it is legal, so that really isn't a good reason. It also isn't a performance enhancing drug, in fact, it is quite the opposite. I just can't see a good argument for the drug being banned (or illegal for that matter).

I tend to find that the people who are for Marijuana are far more reasonable/"morally" sound than those opposing. There is just something incredibly obnoxious about someone telling you what you "ought" to be doing in your own home. I am very simple, people should do what they please in their own home and if anyone objects, they can go themselves.
