In June 2008 the joke was expanded to include a trio of videos depicting people purportedly using cell phones to pop popcorn, all of them part of a marketing scheme launched by Cardo Systems, Inc. (a provider of Bluetooth Headset solutions):

well don't I feel like a sucker.

There is some truth to it though (not the popcorn thing), I got a second hand microwave that was badly dinged up when I started school and went to go buy a radiation meter. The guy in the store when he was selling it to us held it against a cell phone and it went into the red danger zone.
