Default wade boggs

he played how many years with the sox? what was it ten years? and the bone head has a yankee cap on at the all star game. i know he won a WS with the suckees in 96 but that's pathetic. 99 percent of his hall of fame career was in a redsox uniform. f-ck him.

Did you expect anything less from a guy who cheated on his wife?

good point. the thing i remember most about his days with the sox was him crying in the dugout after the sox lost the 86 series. that stiff has more loyalty for the rays then he does the redsox

I remember him arguing to have an error that he made in the field changed to a hit while the Sox pitcher (I forget who it was) had a no-hitter going.

I don't remember that, which is amazing. Anyone have any information on this?

How about the time when he insisted that the Kansas City mound was a foot shorter then regulation. The Sox then go to play K.C. and the Royal players give Boggs a tape to measure from the plate to the mound. Sure enough, its one foot short of regulation. What the players (who are now rolling on the ground laughing) didn't tell Boggs is that they cut the tape in the middle by a foot.
The network was wrong in showing him crying after the series ended. That was the end (the season) of distracting his attention from the loss of his grandmother and mom who had died in a car accident.
That whole episode with his mistress was bizarre, true to form for Boggs.

Trying to dig up something about Boggsy complaining to the official scorer about an error during a no-hitter.. I couldn't find anything on it, but I found http://bigapplesports.net/2008/06/15...ay-wade-boggs/

Wade was a drunk, who routinely drank 60 or more beers on the cross country flights.. Not sure if we should love him or hate him for that..

Funny how the Yankees, didn't consider him a "true yankee" the six guys that they had to throw out the first pitch.

Boggs, basically sold himself out, with that stint in NYC. He has no "home" now, is he a Sox, a Yankee, or a (don't say Devil) Ray?

The only thing that he can effectively sell no is hair replacement:::

Cuz Boston fans are holier than thou, haven't you been paying attention.

BTW, did it ever occur to any of you that last night's All-star game was IN NEW YORK CITY! Sheesh. I guess Boggs should have worn a Redsox cap in an Allstar tribute, for the last year of Yankee Stadium. Especially since it was the team & stadium he played and won in.
